    Actor Krishnam Raju as Tamil Nadu Governor ?

    Telugu actor and politician Krishnam Raju is likely to be named governor of Tamil Nadu, several reports have stated.

    News of his appointment, however, has not been officially confirmed so far. Raju the paternal uncle of Baahubali star Prabhas  joined the BJP in the late '90s,was elected to the 12th and 13th Lok Sabha and served as a Union minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government from 2000 to 2002.

    The post of Tamil Nadu governor hasn't been filled since Konijeti Rosaiah vacated it in September 2016. Maharashtra governor C Vidyasagar Rao was given the additional charge of acting Tamil Nadu governor.

    Political pundits are claiming that Raju's appointment is indicative of the BJP's move to establish a strong presence in Tamil Nadu. However in December,news reports had stated that the Union government was considering making Vidyasagar Rao full-time governor of the state for his handling of the situation in Tamil Nadu after former chief minister J Jayalalithaa passed away.Krishnam Raju, 76, made his acting debut with Chilaka Gorinka in 1966.He has acted in more than 180 films.
